Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz tequila blanco or reposado for a smoother finish
  • Star anise, cinnamon stick, or a sprinkle of ground cardamom optional garnish

For the Thai Tea Concentrate (makes 2 oz)

  • 2 cups water
  • ¼ cup Thaimee Cha Thai Tea Powder Mix or any other brand
  • 1 tbsp sugar or sweetener or to taste
  • 1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk or coconut milk for a dairy-free option
  • Ice for shaking

Instructions

Make the Thai Tea Concentrate

  • Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan.
  • Add the Thai tea mix and sugar, stirring to dissolve.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes, then strain to remove tea leaves.
  • Add in condensed milk.
  • Let cool completely before using.

Make the cocktail

  • Chill the glass: Fill a martini glass with ice and water and let it sit while you prepare the drink. Discard the ice water before pouring.
  • Shake the Ingredients: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the Thai tea concentrate, tequila, coffee liqueur (if using), and sweetened condensed milk. Shake vigorously for about 10–15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain and Pour: Strain the mixture into the chilled martini glass.
  • Garnish and Serve: Garnish with a star anise, a cinnamon stick, or a sprinkle of ground cardamom for an aromatic finish. Serve immediately and enjoy!
