Ingredients
- 1.5 oz tequila blanco or reposado for a smoother finish
- Star anise, cinnamon stick, or a sprinkle of ground cardamom optional garnish
For the Thai Tea Concentrate (makes 2 oz)
- 2 cups water
- ¼ cup Thaimee Cha Thai Tea Powder Mix or any other brand
- 1 tbsp sugar or sweetener or to taste
- 1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk or coconut milk for a dairy-free option
- Ice for shaking
Instructions
Make the Thai Tea Concentrate
- Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan.
- Add the Thai tea mix and sugar, stirring to dissolve.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, then strain to remove tea leaves.
- Add in condensed milk.
- Let cool completely before using.
Make the cocktail
- Chill the glass: Fill a martini glass with ice and water and let it sit while you prepare the drink. Discard the ice water before pouring.
- Shake the Ingredients: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the Thai tea concentrate, tequila, coffee liqueur (if using), and sweetened condensed milk. Shake vigorously for about 10–15 seconds until well chilled.
- Strain and Pour: Strain the mixture into the chilled martini glass.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish with a star anise, a cinnamon stick, or a sprinkle of ground cardamom for an aromatic finish. Serve immediately and enjoy!
